The Challenges We Face in Migori County
1. Safety & Education
Systemic violence and stigma hinder girls' education. UNFPA (2024) reports 39% of tertiary students face Technology-Facilitated GBV. Pregnancy and menstrual stigma affect 85.8% of girls, driving many from school.
2. Economic Exclusion
Youth unemployment is 17.7%. Lacking STEM and digital skills, marginalized youth are excluded from the modern workforce.
3. Climate Vulnerability
Grassroots areas face extreme weather and poor sanitation but lack necessary green infrastructure for adaptation.
